The 599 GTO is a road-legal homologation-style derivative of the 599 GTB, built in 2010-2011 and powered by a 6.0L naturally aspirated V12 producing 670 hp, derived from the Enzo engine. It paired a single-clutch F1 automated manual with extensive aero, weight and suspension revisions, and lapped Fiorano faster than the Enzo. As the last of the front-engined, naturally aspirated V12 Ferrari specials before the F12, it is regarded as a landmark of the type.
It combines Enzo-derived V12 character, motorsport-tuned chassis dynamics and a fast, aggressive single-clutch gearbox into the most hardcore front-engined V12 road Ferrari of its era. Production was limited to 599 cars and there was no manual option, which cements its status as an analogue-feeling high point before turbocharging and dual-clutch gearboxes took over.
