The E92 M3 GTS is a homologation-flavoured, track-focused special built by BMW M GmbH in 2010, powered by an enlarged 4.4-litre version of the S65 V8 (about 450 hp) with lightweight construction, a fixed rear wing, adjustable coilovers and a stripped interior. It was produced in a very limited run of roughly 135 cars, all in Fire Orange with a bare, race-derived cabin. It represents the most extreme road-going E9x M3 and is widely regarded as the last of the naturally aspirated M3 hardcore specials.
The GTS blends motorsport-derived engineering, including a roll-cage-style rear seat delete, carbon and Lexan weight savings and a hydraulic-assisted DCT calibration, with extreme rarity and a single iconic colour. It is the purest expression of the V8 M3 formula and a bookend to an era before turbocharging and electrification.
