Introduced in 1964 as the successor to the 250 GT Lusso, the 275 GTB was Ferrari's first road car with a rear transaxle and fully independent suspension. Powered by the Colombo 3.3-litre V12 and bodied by Scaglietti, it evolved through short-nose, long-nose, four-cam (GTB/4) and competition (GTB/C) forms. It is regarded as one of the defining front-engined Ferrari GTs.
It combines the last of the hand-built, steel-and-aluminium Scaglietti era with genuinely modern chassis engineering, and the four-cam GTB/4 and GTB/C carry direct motorsport lineage. Low production numbers and a beautiful, balanced Pininfarina design give it lasting cultural weight.
